About N. Spy
Christophe Hille, Nathan Foot, and Chris Ronis opened Northern Spy Food Co. in November 2009. Northern Spy is a warm, inviting restaurant and food shop dedicated to serving and selling the best products that we can source from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. This corner of the United States is filled with outstanding vegetable and fruits, incredible artisan foods, sustainably produced meat and fish, and more than a few great things to drink. Our mission is to hunt down these delights and bring them to Northern Spy for you to enjoy.
Sustainable and local aren’t just end points for a press release, however. We buy directly from farmers and local purveyors because it’s a pragmatic and progressive way of operating. Picking up vegetables at Union Square in the morning and seeing them on the menu at dinner is a challenge, it’s fun, and it’s a rare honest instance of a “market” economy. It’s also why we love doing this work and look forward to putting food on your tables. Northern Spy Food Co. is currently open for lunch and dinner, every day of the week, with brunch on weekends.
